Yet Paul says something astonishing: You have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Your deepest life is therefore not located where your eyes can see it. Christ Himself is your life. You are not merely trying to follow Him from a distance. Your true existence has been gathered into Him. The visible world continually tells you what you are, what you lack, and what you must become. But the hidden realm declares something entirely different. You are already enclosed in Christ. Abiding is living from the union already ours. My awareness may wander, but Christ remains my life. I can turn my attention to Him without beginning our union again. One day the veil will disappear, and what is hidden now will be revealed as glory.
